A freak accident has made a four-year-old boy's face look like something out of Avatar, after he was crushed between two travelators.

Stevie Webb miraculously survived the accident, which left the little Pomgolian with discoloured eyes and burst blood vessels under his skin, the UK's Croydon Guardian reported.

"It's left him looking like an extra out of that new Avatar film," his father, Darren Webb, told the newspaper.

"He doesn't have any white left in his eyes and it could be months until the colour in his face goes back to normal."

When his mum's back was turned, Stevie snuck into a 30cm gap between the travelators, which were moving in opposite directions.

His clothes were caught and the Surrey boy was whipped around backwards so hard his head was level with his ankles.

His distraught mother quickly hit the machine's emergency stop button and dragged him free.

The quacks told Stevie's parents that it would take one month for him to recover and had their son been any older, he would have broken his neck.
