Re: 3-year-old Girl with a Fruit Knife Stuck in Her Head
On August 17, 2025, a reporter contacted the Dongchuan District People's Hospital and the emergency department staff confirmed that the little girl, who was admitted to the hospital on August 15, was in the postoperative recovery stage. "She is not in danger (of life) and is currently in good condition." The hospital stated: A craniotomy was successfully performed to remove the knife. When the doctor saw the girl with a knife stuck in her head, did they report it to the police? The staff responded, “It was her mother who did it (accidentally), why should we report it?” The staff explained, “Her mother put a knife under her pillow, saying it was to ward off evil spirits. She was making a fuss on the bed, and her mother picked up the knife to scare her, and then the knife was stuck in her head. That’s what we heard from her mother.” On August 16, 2025, staff from the Dongchuan District Health and Family Planning Commission told reporters that the girl had completed the surgery, her vital signs were stable, and she was being hospitalized for observation. |
