If you're interested in gang activity, there's this documentary series called "Gangland" on Youtube. There was actually an episode about Los Zetas, and probably La Mara and Latin Kings in there. I'm afraid I don't have any more info atm. |

Los Zetas were formed by deserters from the Mexican special forces. For a long time they worked for the Gulf cartel, doing hits on members of the rival Sinaloa cartel. This year they split with the Gulf cartel and the two are fighting. My ex-girlfriend is from Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa, and home to that cartel. I've been there a few times and the place is fuckin crazy. Honestly, I think they will be the last cartel standing. Their leader, "El Chapo" Guzman is extremely intelligent and pretty ruthless. |
