Young Woman Murdered by Bandits on Her Way to Work
26 year old single mother was on her way to the bus stop in order to get to her telemarketing job. She bid her father and her 5 year old son farewell and headed out the door, same as she did every day. Unfortunately for her, she was approached about a block from the stop by two young men on motorcycles. According to witnesses they ordered her to hand over her purse and cell phone. She dropped the cell phone and then panicked, turned, and ran for her life. As evidenced, however, she didn't get very far before they shot her twice in the back. You'll also notice from the photos that they didn't even get the purse. Now, I hate bandits and robbers. The very motion of using force to take something that someone else has worked for is disgusting to me. That said, I hope that whatever bullshit she had in that purse was worth losing her life and orphaning her child. Sure, it's Brazil so they may have killed her anyway. But I simply don't understand taking that risk. Hand over the purse and cross your fingers. You can't outrun bullets and your life has to be pretty miserable to be worth less than a handful of tattered cash and a makeup case. :( Anyway, one of the two has already been apprehended. 17 year old kid. The other has been ID'd but not yet found. Sad, useless waste of life. |

Maybe in a panic she threw the phone and just took off. Not really thinking about anything other than getting away. Life is so cheap there. |
