Young Woman Lifted and Dropped
25 year old woman was abducted from her home Saturday night by several men wearing masks and carrying AK-47s. She tried to resist but was easily overcome and forced into a gray Dodge Stratus. Her family called the police immediately, but by the time they arrived , people a few blocks away were already calling in reports of a dead body lying across a small stone wall. Whatever she did to get the wrong mens' attention, at least her end was probably fairly quick...unlike many Cartel-related deaths. She was placed against the stone wall and shot several times with an AK-47, then left where she fell. Several shell casings were found nearby but there was no trace of the perpetrators. It was initially reported that she was the niece of a local politician and may have been lifted due to something he did. He cleared the issue up, though. He DOES have a niece with the same name as this dead girl...but his niece is alive and well. It wouldn't be the first Cartel-related murder in a case of mistaken identity. Tough break indeed. hate it when they take it out on the family and now someone died that had the same name. It's not they go on a thorough research to find the "right" person at all.  |

So were they after the politicians neice and offed this girl by mistake, or was the pretty girl a clear cut target? Seems an odd method for cartel to use, their normally a bit more...choppy than shooty.  |

Nah, they shoot far more than they chop. The images are just typically more exciting for folks here when axes and dismemberments are involved, so more of those get posted. I can't clarify this instance any further for you though, sorry. The articles weren't especially clear about whether it was actually a mistaken identity murder or if the girl was killed for other reasons and just coincidentally shared a name with some politico's niece. |
