Re: Young Woman Killed in Carcrash - Thrown Out of the Car
No doubt that seatbelts save lives. If it was the case here, is hard to tell - after all, the driver was brought to hospital in coma, and if he wakes, he might find out, that his passenger is better off - or he might be able to live a decent normal life. I remember the discussion on seatbelts here from many years back, when the use was enforced. It was always the same from the opponents: They all knew an accident or two, where a victim survived because he or she was thrown out of the car. And they were mostly correct, but they sure had the statistics against them. Some time ago I posted a teenage girl drowned because she couldn't release her seatbelt - another version of the anti-seatbelt argument. But that isn't the typical accident. In most cases you would do much better with the belt than without it. |

She must have taken flying lessons from the Greatest American Hero. " Believe it or not,* I'm walkin' on air,* I never thought I could feel so free;* Flyin' away on a wing and a prayer,* Who could it be?* Believe it or not, it's just me.*" |
