None of the articles have been clear as to what she used to stand on. I seriously doubt she did as jump out of the tree and snapped her neck with a 'long drop.'

The physics of that action would almost without question cause that cell phone to fall out of her bra. Because the phone is still tucked into the bra, I cannot envision any significant drop at all.

Far more likely that whatever she used to stand on was kicked hard enough that it tumbled out of the camera's view or, more likely, was moved aside by the people who found her or the scene investigators.

I could be wrong, of course, but I just don't see that cell phone staying put during a long drop.

You can also see in the closest image that her tongue is protruding slightly with sputum trailing all the way down her chin. In my observatory experience, that only occurs during short/no drop hangings with slower, more prolonged asphyxiation. Again, not definitive, but just my assumptions.

I do agree that the angle on the neck is pretty sharp, though.

Now, having said all that, later reports have mentioned that the police have not yet ruled out homicide. Personally, I am very comfortable saying that this is a fairly obvious suicide. But in 'sure thing' cases, they indicate that no foul play is suspected and that statement has NOT yet been issued by the police. So there's always an outside possibility that someone put her on that branch.

But given that the sputum on her chin and the urine stains on her shorts are both very obviously still damp, I -seriously- doubt that she was killed elsewhere and her body hanged here to fake a suicide.

Yeah, I can't see the shoes below her body, it means that she probably climbed on the tree and jumped down to make the long drop... no one will climb the tree with shoes on right?

The neck stretches when they've been dead a while, I think the ligaments soften before rigor sets in. She peed a lot though.

Ibelieve she did break her neck. I have noticed the same thing on other hangings we have seen.
