The body of 23 year old Yalileth Vides was discovered on a road in the Malambo neighborhood this morning. She was found topless, with a rope and a cable tied around her neck.

The initial police report indicated that her body had numerous signs of death by asphyxiation, but they were uncertain whether it was a ligature strangulation or if she was hanged and then cut down.



She was found early in the morning and assumed to have been dropped there or murdered onsite at some point during the late night.

From my amateur perspective, the livor mortis on her body is fairly evenly distributed, so if she was hanged to death it was likely that she was cut down shortly after and left on this spot. A report about the hyoid bone during postmortem would shed some light. I cannot tell if her tongue is protruding, thought it does not appear so. That would be a sign far more common in hanging than strangulation. Her fingers are slightly curled up, but not balled or fully contracted as is common in hangings. The photo quality is not great, but it appears to me that her jean shorts are still visibly wet around the crotch. Perimortem bladder void is common in all types of asphyxia, but the fact that they still appear at least somewhat damp indicates she likely hasn't been lying there for more than six hours or so. There is obvious insect activity on her face and limbs, but very little visible predation, so another sign that she wasn't likely lying there for terribly long.

Cops have posted no leads. Two other women have been murdered in the area this past week, but it's a rough part of Colombia so that isn't terribly uncommon. Her boyfriend is being investigated.

Photos are a mixed bag of quality, color, size, and watermarks. It's early yet, so I (or KH or Crux) may find more in the T or WA groups, but here's what I scrounged up in the initial news blasts.

Her romantic partner is believed to be part of the Los Costeños gang. She allegedly participated in criminal acts, although not directly.

"She never figured in any of the incidents, but the information we have is that she was apparently involved in moving firearms and narcotics. We had her on our radar," said an investigator.

This incident is probably related to a fight between criminal gangs for territorial control or for some drugs that may have been lost. She has a criminal record for theft from 2020.

And yeah, clearer photos of her feet make it apparent that the livor is not at all more pronounced than on her torso or thighs.

I'd lay good money that she was strangled and not hanged. Rough way to go. She must have fucked something up.

Perhaps being strangled was a better way to go versus being burned alive, quartered, or drowned. Either way, she still suffered.
