Yesterday (12/11/2013) a woman was found by locals searching for firewood. Two of the sources say both that she was in her 30'ies and that she was between 25 and 30 years old - make your own choice Both are estimates, as she is still unidentified, but it says a bit about the precision in mexican newsmedia.

She was blindfolded with gaffatape and had her head cut off and placed beside the body. On the body was placed the usual "narcomensaje" ("narcomessage" - a techical term used for these cardboard messages).

In this case the message stated that "this would happen with the kidnappers and murderers of the municipality" - although it did not say which town they are talking about.

There isn't much blood from them, so unless they cleaned her legs, the cuts must have been made after her death. They still look cruel (and that's the point making them), but if she was dead, the cutting at least didn't hurt her.

How much she suffered - apart from the terror and fear - depends on how they chopped off her head: Slowly cut with a knife - or a fast blow with a machete.
