They put her on her knees and smashed her skull to pieces with the backside of the 'Goat's Horns', as the cartels say.

That's an AK-47 to those of you who don't follow the local jargon. Several shell casings of varying calibers were found scattered around the scene, but the only injuries mentioned on her body were the bludgeoning wounds. Casings could have been from another victim, another crime, or just random bullet discharge during the commission of this one.
