This young teenage couple were out walking on the street when they were ambushed by a group of ten men. According to witnesses, only two of the men had guns, but they emptied and reloaded several times. The boy was shot over a dozen times while his young girlfriend only caught two or three of the shots, mostly in the head and in her hands where she obviously tried to protect her face from the bullets. Pretty horrific death mask on the girl's face-looks like she probably died screaming in horror. No surprise after getting jumped by an armed mob. Suspicions are high that the double-homicide was drug related.

The girl's parents complained that they had tried repeatedly to keep her away from the boyfriend (he was three years older than her) because he was a bad seed and ran with a bad crew. But she kept sneaking out anyway and eventually ran away from home. Her parents commented that she got new clothes every week from him and they were all outside any reasonable price range, so that even if they could have convinced her to leave the guy...she would never give up the 'luxury' he offered.

Yeah, she sure looks real luxurious there, dead in the street.

Update: Further information provided by a DR member local to the area confirmed that both the girl and the guy were ratting on at least one drug gang, with the young girl being used to pass messages to the cops. This was likely a very strong contributor to their deaths.

There are hundreds of photos of corpses on this site lying on their backs whose mouths are not gaping wide open in silent screams.

But no, of course you're right. Perfectly normal. She died a peaceful, happy death, dreaming of ice cream cones and dancing unicorns. Look at that blissful smile of contentment!

Is it REALLY such a stretch to assume that she died in shock, pain, and horror and that maybe it just MIGHT be somewhat evident on her face in postmortem photos taken within minutes of her violent death?

Sure. Maybe it is just an artifact of gravity and muscle tone. I've no doubt that that happens sometimes. SOMETIMES. But clearly not all the time. Now quit nitpicking my narrative and appreciate the photos.

Your reply implies that what I said was "No she didn't die a horrific death, and clearly she wasn't screaming, in fact everything was fine."

This is called "strawman argument". You're arguing with something I never said or meant.

Within minutes of her death, her face would've relaxed, and due to her position, her mouth would've opened, because we live in a world with certain physical and biological laws. The face does not freeze in any kind of expression when a person dies.

A lot of photos where people lie in this position with their mouth closed, are this way because they were found in a different position and then turned by the medics.

I appreciate the fact that you process this tragedy by introducing certain pathos into your story, and it IS a horrible story, but there's no need to snap at someone for pointing out an obvious fact.

Not taking "sides" here, but I recently had the misfortune to be present at the death of a close family member. The facial expression was no different than that of the girl shown.
