Man, this one hits me hard. She looks just like two Indian women I have worked with. I can't imagine what could be so bad for her that this seemed like a good alternative. :-(

Well women are treated worse than animals in most parts of Asia, so maybe someone did something bad to her that she couldn't accept/handle

Sexual abuse, fear of single motherhood, struggling with homosexuality, or giving it up to a guy who then kicks them to the curb are common reasons for suicides in SE Asia.
