Young Kurdish Woman Allegedly Executed by Mercenaries
This young Kurdish woman was abducted from Darwish Village by a unit of Turkish-backed mercenaries working in conjunction with the FSA (Free Syria Army). Her body was allegedly discovered in Northern Syria a few days later, beaten and with a bullet to the head. Several reports indicate that she refused to marry an FSA soldier who family had arranged her marriage. That is unsubstantiated. There are also several who dispute that the body is this girl at all, but claim it is rather a 27 year old divorcee who was murdered by her uncle as an 'honor killing.' Due to the extremely high amount of propaganda surrounding these struggles and due to the language barrier, it has been extremely difficult to verify either claim. The former (Turkish mercenaries) is significantly more widespread and popular, though that does not make it the more earnest account. The photos are decent quality, however, so I chose to post them and include both accounts for you to judge or research at your discretion. I have no free time to do so. |

Re: Young Kurdish Woman Allegedly Executed by Mercenaries
Stuff like this makes me thankful to be born in a country where honor killing and the like are just plain ol' murder.
