No, food parcels really are the solution, we just don't help them (or haven't helped them, since Ethiopia is now mostly ok) because economically speaking Ethiopia is one big zero to us Americans and to youse ignant Brits. They don't have oil, they were never feasible for wide-scale humanitarian action (and by the time the West took notice of the famine in Ethiopia in the 1980s, the country was already several years into this tragedy)
