I think in some cases girls get killed because they refuse to work. They're seen like slaves. By killing the strong-headed ones, pimps give the message to the other girls to stay in line. In other cases, they'll kill a girl who is competing, so to speak, with the girls affiliated with other pimps. Some people will kill for just about any reason you can find. But if it becomes very common to have prostitutes killed, we have to think it happens in a sexual exploitation context.
