Not so sure. That car is fucking old. The front is destroyed. The rest is buckled and compacting. It obviously had a terrible crush zone which would have helped little with deceleration. And no airbags. So none there either. Outward injuries don’t look that extensive, so they both could have died from internal injuries such as torn abdominal aorta or basal skull fracture. Incidentally, the same sort of injuries young children and babies are subjected to in forward facing car seats. Which is why they consistently fail safety tests in countries that bother to test for deceleration loads. |
