Yes, the whole family was murdered. The house servant and her boyfriend/gardenboy did this. First they hanged the mother and then they hanged the two children as they came home from school. The father was stabbed to death when he came home later that afternoon from work. This happened about two miles from where I stay in the early 80's as far as I can remember. The small girl was hanged with her bookcase still on her back.
