Re: WTC 9/11
i think you would die of suffocating before you burned to death fire sucks all of the oxygen out of the room also you would probably pass out from smoke inhalation before you felt yourself melting i feel sorry for the guys on the upper floors who were on the phone with the 911 phone operator when the building collapsed under them that phone call recording haunts me to this day they site i saw it at showed a distant video of the burning building as it played the call and you heard him scream as the buidling collapsed under him it gave me (and still does) nightmares |

Re: WTC 9/11
seriously, what logic is this based on? surely not personal experience. any and all experiments to prove whether if in a fire you died either by smoke inhalation or burns first would be completely unethical. i think even the fear of being burned alive led some people to jump. |

Re: WTC 9/11
I was setting up labs in a Brooklyn college, when at 9:15 a.m. that day of all days, some students ran into the physiology lab. I went in to see that they didn't disarrange anything. what I SAW banished that from my mind. I saw the towers burning from a prep room bet the labs. Then I saw the towers FALL ! Classes were cancelled that day and I had to walk from Brooklyn to 42nd street (buses weren't running so I had to find a train to the GWB. ). After walking over Brooklyn Bridge, I felt pain in my legs and had to lean on something. To my surprize it was crystalline dust ! I was at the edge of the Destruction Zone. My route was north, tho.... My legs were yelling in pain as I neared 42nd street. I eventually found out why. I had undiagnosed diabetes. I'm OK now, tho... |

Re: WTC 9/11
They don't use experiments, but studies based on autopsy results for fire fatalities - the majority of on site deaths are from asphyxia, due to either carbon monoxide, or hydrogen cyanide, or a combination of the two. There are a huge number of well documented and heavily studied, peer reveiwed studies on this subject, dating back decades, and the conclusions are pretty well indisputable. Nevertheless, your conclusion that fear of burning alive was the understandable reason behind the jumpers is just as undeniable.
