I think the biggest problem in any job, sport, recreation etc. is that once we become comfortable doing it, we become complacent about it. Always treat anything dangerous or risky like it's your first time. Complacency is a frail reed upon which to hang your life. |

This is the 3rd or 4th death I've seen like this on DR, I would've thought that the companies that use high scaffolds would have the upper portions coated or sleeved with plastic to prevent this sort of thing from occurring, it's not really that hard to do.

i wonder how that happened... from what little knowledge i have about electricity, he seemed well insulated from the ground by safety shoes, and well insulated body from brief contact since he was wearing shirt and denim jacket. except for the bare hands, nothing much should have came in contact with the scaffolding even if it became electrified. Except if he is wet from rain, water or perpiration. |
