Re: Woman Strangled when Scarf Entangles in Work Machinery
I worked for a few years packaging dry chemical in a chemical plant which required the use of several conveyor belts ranging in size from ones that move 40-50 lbs to ones that moved 2000-3000 lbs. I got my hand caught in one that moved 50lb bags as went to catch the bag coming off the belt. I was wearing a glove which saved me from loosing some skin, fortunately my hand being wedged in actually stopped the belt but it actually minched my hand so hard that is tore some nerves loose causing the whole top of my left hand to be completely numb to this day. I wont ever forget it when I pulled my hand out and got my glove off the whole top of my hand was yellow Im guessing from all the blood being pushed out. Really gave me a great sense of respect for machinery. It really is incredible how powerful even some of the smaller equipment is. I feel for this lady because I know there was a few seconds of complete horror before she died where she knew she was in bad trouble. With just my hand getting caught it scared me shitless, I just knew my hand was gonna get ripped off. I cant imagine what her last thoughts were. P.S. For the record if I ever actually do get my hand ripped off or something similar. I PROMISE I will take pictures and post them! |
