42 year old woman was mortally injured and nearly decapitated by her estranged husband, who followed up by taking the same blade across his own throat. Their bodies were found by their 17 year old son.

He was allegedly a drunk with severe mental health problems and had been growing increasingly erratic since their separation a few months earlier. Forensics said there was only a single blow to the neck, so she likely died very very quickly.

Must of been a knockoff Hattori Hanzō blade. A single blow with a genuine article would have gotten the job done less sloppily.
