It's obvious. She was reaching for her purse to grab that pack of gum, realized she couldn't reach it and rather than getting up to get it, she chopped her hand off and tossed it at the purse, hoping the hand alone would toss the gum back. Shame she bled to death before that. Some people. I sware.
