Woman Mauled to Death by Dogs Yesterday
Yesterday morning (22nd August 2018) in Viamão, 38 year old M.C.G. was killed. 'M' had been working as a caretaker for the last 8 days. She went to feed the dogs but didn't notice that they were loose. She was attacked + killed by 6 dogs. The owner of the property could be held liable for manslaughter.

The one looking away outside the kennel looks a lot like an Akita and I have never trusted them, way less than pits |

Re: Woman Mauled to Death by Dogs Yesterday
Having been around and owned Akitas throughout my entire life, I've never had any problems with them. Granted, they've all been socialized and trained, which is what any responsible owner should do with their dog(s), regardless of breed or breed reputation.

Re: Woman Mauled to Death by Dogs Yesterday
You make a very important point there. ALL dogs, regardless of breed, can become hostile if not raised properly. I've personally met quite a vile Labrador Retriever as well as a very defensive Bernese Mountain Dog. Both breeds are known for their easygoing, intelligent and people-loving personalities. Having said that, if I were to have a dog of my own, I'd go for a Labrador or a similar breed. Why? Because I myself possess the qualities commonly associated with those breeds: laid-back, friendly, active and eager to learn. I'd have much an easier life with my dog if I can understand them why do the behave the way they do, and why do they need the activities they need. Of course, there's always a small risk involved when having a dog, but that can be said about everything in life. |

The owner(s) of these vicious dogs should suffer the same fate as this woman. |

In Brazil? Don't hold your breath waiting. Likewise regarding a manslaughter conviction. They will probably blame it on the woman's carelessness - didn't notice that the dogs were loose. That is something that should have been noticed.
