The lines are actually made with a combination of quartz powder and aluminium oxide. The cutting power is roughly five times that of glass-lined kite strings. They call them “linha Chilena." Many motorcycles in Brazil are manufactured with a special anti-cerol antenna in front, to intercept and sever kite lines before they decapitate the driver. There are at least three other fatal incidents involving kite strings on DR alone from the past few years. |

during world war 2,they mounted angle iron and other types of steel on the front of jeeps and some other types of vehicles because the germans were placing wire across roads to decapitate or greatly injure the allies.
