Woman Killed With a Machete, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala; Man in PNC Custody
A 33-year-old man, identified only as R., murdered his stepmother, 37, with a machete in a village in Alta Verapaz Department. Several neighbours heard the victim's screams, and they were able to capture R. and hand him over to the police.

Props to the neighbors The image of the nearly severed hand breaks my heart for some reason. There wasn't much of an age gap between stepmother and stepson. Makes me ponder if this was yet another case of someone unable to handle unrequited love trying to "solve" the situation by killing the other person. |

i don't know what she did to deserve it, if anything, but... damn, woman. at the hands of the stepchild you poured all your effort and love into taking care of. |

Bright side look at the money she saved not fixing her teeth.
