Violence against women in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, continues unabated, as a new case of femicide was reported early Sunday morning inside a residence located in Guacarí, where a Venezuelan national allegedly murdered Y.A.A., his romantic partner.

The man is said to have repeatedly assaulted Y.A. with a blunt object, and after committing the presumed femicide, he was apprehended by the authorities, although his identity has not been disclosed. The woman suffered severe head trauma and died on the scene.
