Re: Woman Gets Hand Caught in MEAT GRINDER!
As a child we used a large grinder for vegetable juice and another type grinder much like this one. We were warned over and over and over again that not one part of our hand was to go down into the mouth of the grinder. Not even a little bit. And we had a wooden piece that does go down in it to pack the food down for grinding and processing. Only the wooden piece was to go in the mouth. So my question is, If they had the wooden plunger and had been trained would this have happened? I am thinking the answer would be obvious. Still it's a sad tragedy and I feel very badly for her. Years ago my first wife had begged me to let her use the table saw to cut parts for a project I was working on. I told her no more than a few times. Then one day I decided to give in. I gave her the standard safety instructions and let her cut one. Then seeing she was doing ok I walked away. Before I had taken ten steps she had decided she didn't need the silly push sticks. She nicked the end of her finger. I was so glad that was all that happened I didn't even scold her. But she did leave the table saw to me after that. |
