Mexico is thick with watermarks these days, when they aren't censored completely. Sometimes they're bad enough that I just pass them by. This source in particular is vexing. I've used this guy's photos here for over ten years now. They used to be watermark-free, but these days they're pretty invasive. He refuses to sell me clean copies even when I am willing to pay. As annoying as these ones are, they don't actually obscure much of the corpse most of the time so I decided to go ahead and post. A better editor than me could wipe the wm's out in PS, but I am not about to spend 3 hours doing that.
Sorry for anyone who is pissed off by the watermarks. I am too, but they're better than censorship imho.

Anyway, this woman in her 30s was found lying face down next to a garbage pile in a back street early in the morning. Not sure what she did, but she went out pretty hard. A makeshift garrote had been assembled with a stick and a length of cord, then wrapped around her neck. The stick was turned repeatedly to tighten the ligature in order to very slowly choke the woman to death.

In addition, she had been stabbed twice in the back, though the coroner said neither wound was fatal. In all likelihood they stabbed her a few times to keep her in line as she was struggling mightily with the agonies of strangulation.

People living in the nearby area said they heard a woman screaming and sounds of a struggle, but they all (wisely) decided to stay in their homes and not interfere. When police were called a few minutes later, the woman was already dead. No known suspects, but the motive was likely drug related or punishment for snitching.

As a test, I tried to remove some watermarks using an online service. Came out pretty good, I think, and with some tweaking, probably better results can be achieved

Nah. They just don't want anyone taking credit for their work. I just wish they'd be a little more circumspect about it. They used to be.

There are plenty of journalists in the rojas world who take pains to censor bladder/bowel voids in their photos, especially where female decedents are concerned. But this particular guy has never been one of them. This one will sometimes censor tits or junk if it is on display, but he isn't skittish about wet or shitty drawers.
