Woman Found Strangled with Her Purse Strap
Busy holidays for me, so I havent had much time to look for shit. This one came across my desk this morning and I had a couple of minutes so I figured I'd post it here. The body of a woman assumed to be around 35 years old (though still not identified) was found lying beside a dirt road next to a restaurant this morning. She had been strangled to death with the strap to a purse, which was still wound around her throat. The purse itself was not found. No motives or suspects were mentioned in the report, but she was determined to have likely only been dead for an hour or two.  Corpse looks pretty fresh to me. Sorry for the watermarks. Damn, I watched a documentary several weeks ago on cold cases. A girl was murdered stabbed many times and her purse found in a tree. 30 years or so later a new female detective found dna on the purse belonging to a lad at the girls school the police talked to back then but never suspected. It was a good watch. Going to do my head in now not finding that, Thanks

I actually saw someone being strangled once, when I was in Afghanistan. The strangling situation had nothing to do with the larger conflict; it turned out to be two grown men ostensibly fighting to the death over a Beanie Baby. A Beanie Baby! It was a little red bull with white feet. Allegedly, one guy had found it somewhere and gave it to his son, but then the other guy took it away from the first guy's son for inscrutable reasons. I am telling this story because I made an observation: it takes a long time and tremendous effort to strangle someone in the manner shown in the pictures above. The guy I witnessed was doing it with what appeared to be an untied bowtie - and it was quite the struggle of wills. It took him a good couple of minutes before he even got the other guy somewhat off his feet, and the strangler looked like he was going to pass out because he was straining so hard. Alas, before he finished an ANP officer (this is the actual officer, I think) who had been alerted by bystanders threatened to shoot them both and took the beanie baby with him. |

Most of the keywords at the top of regular search list involve hanging or strangulation or general asphyxia. Asphyxiated folks (especially females) are very likely to piss their pants when they die, so I wind up posting a lot of them. If my daily routines started with gunshots or car crashes and I burned out before hitting the asphyx searches instead, I'd probably post fewer.
