Yeah, I saw comments to that affect from some of the Venezuelan sites where I got the photos. I didn't address it at length in the original post because I don't actually believe it. Murdering someone by hanging is extremely rare. Occasionally murderers will stage a murdered body to look like a suicide, but there are usually telltale signs that discredit the attempt. Take this photo for example (remember to enlarge for proper detail). Note the discharge of mucus from the nose and extensive discharge of saliva from the mouth. A significant area of her tshirt is damp from saliva that ran out of her mouth while she was dying in the noose. Further, her clenched fingers with thumbs tucked in is a very classic sign of hanging. Finally, look at the urine pattern from her bladder release. It runs horizontally from her crotch all the way down to her knee, which strongly indicates that she was in that exact position when she evacuated her bladder while dying. I can't make statements with regard to petechia or the state of her hyoid without an autopsy report, but I would bet that both are consistent with hanging. In this case I think a police coverup in conjunction with an oil company conspiracy is quite far-fetched due to the presentation of the scene. I am certainly not disputing that high-level corruption exists in Venezuela, but I strongly suspect that the coroner indicated COD as suicide and that it was the proper path based on the circumstances.  · |

A skate park is a perfect place. It will give the kids something to think about and talk about for years. Being remembered is the only real kind of afterlife. They might even name a new trick after her, like choking the lace or hanging the shoe.
