You are probably right. Since I made the post, I've seen the word "motorista" used about cardrivers and "motoqueiro" used about bikeriders. The man who fled was "o motorista" which then might mean the car or the truckdriver. It wouldn't be easy for the truck to get away, so maybe the cardriver is meant. Where I live, he would have nothing to fear - it is the sole responsibility for the vehicle behind another to keep enough distance to be able to stop, whatever might happen in front. In some countries there don't need to be any specific reason to avoid contact with the police though. |
