Woman Executed by FARC and Dumped On the Road
A woman in her mid-30's was found dead on a roadside in Columbia this week. The note left with her body said that she was executed for turning State's witness on FARC activities and it was confirmed that she had former ties to FARC, though it has been almost 10 years since she was active with the organization. The police did not indicate when and if she ever actually provided testimony on FARC. The police statement provided to the media noted that there were no visible injuries on her body to determine cause of death. There was a red scarf wrapped around her throat, however, as well as petechiae in the sclera of her eyes. It also stated that she was found to have urinated and defecated in her jeans (unusual level of detail for South American news reports, but it was in the document). Death by ligature asphyxiation is the supposed cause of death unless the autopsy determines otherwise. It is unknown whether she died at the location she was found or killed elsewhere and dumped. My personal guess is that she was strangled on the spot, given the state of her left shoe. It'd be odd for it to have come off thusly when the body was rolled out of a vehicle. I have found and added several antemortem images of the woman. She seemed extremely fond of that red scarf in life. Far less fond of it, I suspect, when it was choking the life out of her.  |

Correct, yes. It was the note left by her killers stating that she was an informant and was executed for giving testimony to the State.

Hahahaha, I noticed the same too! I'm a "scarf person" as well and in fact one of my scarves resembles her red one quite a lot, except that it's electric blue. I've always liked blue better than red  Good job Vedderman, once again! |

FARC stands for Fuerzas Armadas Revolutionarias de Colombia. In otherwards, it's a Rebel Group or terrorists if you will. (Formed in the 1960's)  |
