Woman Crushed to Death by an Overturned Truck, Hubei, China, 2012
Wang Xiaoyan, 30, was killed when a concrete mixer truck overturned in Wuhan, China, on August 17, 2012. The crash happened beneath the flyover at the Zhuyeshan roundabout in Jiang'an District, where Erqi Road meets Jinqiao Avenue. Police said an elderly pedestrian stepped into the roadway and hesitated as the truck approached. The driver swerved left and then sharply right, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side and enter a roadside flower bed. It struck four pedestrians walking beside the road. Three women were pulled clear alive, while Wang was pinned beneath the mixing drum and driven into the soil. Firefighters tried to raise the drum with lifting air cushions, but the soft ground could not support the load. Two cranes later lifted it, and Wang was pronounced dead at the scene. The three survivors were treated for injuries, including a fractured leg and back injuries. The driver, a 35-year-old man surnamed Yang, suffered a minor head injury, called police and was detained for investigation on suspicion of causing a serious traffic accident. Smombies!! I hate Smombies. They look only on ther Damn device. I nearly ran one over with my Car because he didnt look on the oncoming Traffic.
