Re: Woman Burnt Alive in Lagos
Why, you clearly blamed White people for all the ills of the world...what is there to understand? If you wish folks to understand, then stop making blanket statements and expecting everyone to feel guilty and afraid to call you on it.

Re: Woman Burnt Alive in Lagos
Sorry, I've lost my mind...that was for a different thread. This had nothing to do with race or Whitey blaming. Sorry. What I ment to say for this thread was, your agenda is clearly anti-death penalty. Your comparison of America to every third world shit hole by showing how many poor "innocent" people are successfully killed by death sentences and saying that's the same thing as a burning tire neckless in bumbfuck Africa is absurd and rather anti-American. At least in America, they were given at least one criminal trial, multiple appeals, multiple opportunities to dig up new evidence, and usually die of old age before any death sanction by the state is invoked. Yup...America is just like all the rest of the world...we're just savages. Dumbass. |

Re: Woman Burnt Alive in Lagos
"We're just savages".. that's exactly the point I was trying to explain. Years ago, when WE were more ignorant, we did the similar things, just think about Inquisition (that started here in Europe, by the way) or lynching black people on the streets, think about the Holocaust.. If we did it in the past due to our ignorance, hate, hunger, war etc., I think we can understand why these things happen in some countries and maybe try to do something, instead of feeling ourselves better people, judge them and pass the buck like we have nothing to do with what happens around the world. You're right, burn people alive it's not the same thing of death penalty or a rotten healthcare that let people die for money, but if you think a bit about it, it's not so different (if you consider the difference of culture, technology and information levels between First and Third World). Why do we have a world-wide economy but NOT a world-wide civilization? Don't you think that's because someone wants things to remain this way? And don't you think that everytime we give money to certain companies or throw food away, we're actively contributing to this? I'm not anti-American, I'm anti-ignorance. I live in Italy, "the cradle of culture and civilization" We don't burn people alive and have not death penalty, we have free healthcare but sorry, how can I say we are better people or less guilty than others when we are not even interested in taking informations about facts? That is obviously just MY point of view.. and sorry for my terrible English, I hope I was clear |
