Woman Burned Alive by a Mob in Abule Egba, Lagos, May 2014
On the morning of May 6, 2014, a middle-aged woman was attacked by a mob on Ekoro Road in the Abule Egba area of Lagos, Nigeria, after being accused of attempting to abduct three primary-school children travelling to school. The alarm was raised by a hawker after the woman gave names for the children that differed from their own. The crowd beat her, placed a tyre around her neck and set it on fire with petrol. Police arrived but could not stop the mob. The woman was never identified, the allegation was never tested, and no arrests were reported.  ·  ·  · |

Nigeria  A lot of people "accused" being lynched lately. Disturbs me to think they may be innocent and have been killed based on hearsay. |
