Woman, 38, Killed After Car Runs Off Road Into Cornfield in Parana, Brazil
This 38 years old woman lost control over her car on a rural road in Parana, Brazil. The car ended up in a corn field - and she ended up dead inside it. Not that damaged in fact, but tossed around so that she landed looking out of the passenger side window. Nice set. I wonder though why all 4 of today's photos are from Brazil? Even by DR standards, that's a little out there. Usually we get 2 from Brazil, 1 from Thailand and 1 from India. But whatever. If it's gore, it's gore.

I was wondering that too because the damage on the drivers side doesn't look too severe. Though I don't see a deployed airbag and the force it must have taken to make her lay out like that must have been really strong.  |

Even if cars are called the same, they aren't necessarily the same. Cars for third world countries are no way built to the same standards as known in rich countries in North America or Europe. Fiat Pallio seems to be one of the most common cars in Brazil (I meet it again and again in the stories when I search for material), so I would guess it is cheap. I don't know the exact regulations in Brazil, but I would not be surprised, if Fiat skipped the airbags to save money to make the car cheaper. There are regulations though. I remember reading that they stopped production of the old VW microbus in Brazil a year or two ago, because it didn't live up to the standards anymore even there. |
