Re: Victum of the Brisbane Floods Before Recovery

I live in Brisbane too and it's been a scary few weeks.I live in an area with bad drainage and in 2001 we had some mild flooding(around the ankles in the living room) so I thought we might get it bad here this time but luckily we were all right.Scary that Tuesday to catch the standing room only bus at 1 pm when everyone was sent home from work from the CBD to prepare for the worst.(I often have a flex day on Tues and normally that bus is empty.) Also, panic buying meant bread and milk and other items were hard to come by.
I was a kid during the 1974 floods so wasn't happy when they predicted it might be worse.I'm ok but I have friends who live across town who have lost everything.Hard to believe it was only 2 yrs ago we had such a bad drought they were rationing the water. If it ain't one extreme it's another.
