I remember when i was there about 12 yrs ago i was walking down the street and turned around to see a man cutting the neck off of a goat..i almost got sick..Although i must admit if it was a human of any age i would have gotten out my camera faster than a priest comes with a little boy on his lap.This surprised me as they are hindu and buddhist and both religion do not eat animals (or are not suppose to)So thus i must agree with you..it is their karma,,,A really neat place to visit though.
