Very Deep Throat Cut
"A man believed to be in his 30s was found murdered in a farm with his throat cut and esophagus removed. The corpse, which is presently at the government hospital mortuary unidentified, was said to be using a motor bike at night with Registration number ADT 012, engine number 0F1B81594396 and Chasse or MD 625BF1381B39059. The man was reportedly attacked on Saturday night, August 2, 2008, by unknown men on the Kenema Bo highway at a place known as Bayama village junction in the Small Bo chiefdom in the Kenema district. Bayama junction is just after Kpai village about a mile from the main Bandama checkpoint gateway to the regional headquarters town of Kenema city. Residents of Bayama village were surprised when they saw the corpse of the deceased a few yards from his motor bike, which was burnt by the attackers while the number plate of the bike was removed and abandoned a few yards from the corpse in a farm near the junction on the main highway. A report was then made to the police at the Bandama checkpoint who then informed the police headquarters in Kenema. A police team then visited the scene and then took the corpse and the burnt bike to Kenema police division. Apart from the cut throat, no other part of the body was seen as damaged. Looking at the corpse at the hospital, one of the onlookers remarked that the incident is mysterious, as the election is over and there is no pending chieftaincy in the district to which some people normally attribute such murder. Someone alleged that there was money in the pocket of the deceased at the time of the visit of the police. The owner of the farm, Alex Galia of Bayama village, is helping the police in Kenema with the investigation." |
