Who the fuck would include a pic of their dead father’s decomposing face? They’ll probably have it front and centre on the order of service pamphlet. |

Re: USA - Elderly Man Died in His Home
I'm sorry for your loss. Twenty years ago, my mom passed in her sleep and I found her body the next day. My town doesn't have a coroner, but they sent a guy from the local funeral home to handle her body and I remember that out of all the police and emergency personnel that showed up that guy was the most gentle and compassionate out of all or them. |

Re: USA - Elderly Man Died in His Home
No open casket. Back in 2001, my dad died in California in the middle of summer. He was extra ripe when he was found. Most of the kids lived in the Midwest so we had to have his body transported here. There would have been no problem if he was cremated, but a couple of my sisters wanted to see him. I, however, knew that was nothing that I would want to have a lasting memory of, but no one would listen to me. By the time that he arrived at the mortuary here, the embalmer said that he could not be viewed in the state that he was. |

Re: USA - Elderly Man Died in His Home
My brother died sitting in his chair. Another brother found him 3 days later. He’d discharged himself from hospital. I know it’s absolutely awful but a part of me is envious my brother found him. Nothing could look as bad as my mother did. But I can’t help being curious. |
