I spent a long time in India, went all over the country. This story is just another typical f__ed up love/marriage drama. That culture is all screwed up about relationships. So many suicides caused by heartless families and intolerance.

It is very likely that with partial suspension—of which this is only one variant—death may actually be substantially less painful and to those so-inclined—it would constitute the preferred method.
