Before I begin, let me say this is my first attempt at starting a new thread and I most certainly haven't achieved the well deserved reputation of some of the more seasoned thread starters in this forum. Nevertheless, I applaud the hard work you guys have done, making this one of my most trusted sources of uncensored information on the web. I also respect your work, regardless of whether I like it or not. That being said, if I have reposted anything here or elsewhere going forward, please know I did so unintentionally and made my best effort to check the search engine in this forum beforehand.

So without further adieu, I bring you this unsolved homicide from Perry County, Pennsylvania.

The pictures below are of Edna Marie Posey who was a 34 year old secretary for a legal firm in Alexandria, Virginia in the early 80's but who also battled alcoholism and being a single parent to her son that she could no longer care for after checking herself into a rehabilitation center. She gave legal guardianship to her son's boy scout leader, Donald Ruby who resided near Lancaster, Pennsylvania so she could complete her year 1/2 long treatment, and until she regained the ability to care for herself and her son. Whether or not she had permanent residency in Virginia or was here only for treatment and work during that length of time isn't clear.

What is known is that after being discharged from treatment, she made the trip up to Pennsylvania on or about May 25th, 1984 to visit her son and, presumably to negotiate regainging custody of him. She was invited to stay with Ruby and his wife during her visit where she slept on the couch. The last time anyone saw her alive was during the afternoon hours of May 26th, when the Ruby's dropped her off to meet up with an acquaintance.

In the early morning of May 27th, a local fisherman by the name of Donald Clegg discovered a cardboard box that contatined a headless and dismembered corpse along the bank of the Juniata river. The torso remained UID (do not recall how long it remained UID), until a sister-in-law was able to identify it as belonging to Edna Posey based on birthmarks and a surgical scar on the torso's back.

Ruby was found guilty in a 1987 trial and remained incarcerated for 6 years until DNA testing confirmed that semen samples recovered from the body belonged to 3 different men, none of which belonged to Ruby. Based on their factors, such as the maggot eggs found on the body, a trail of missing dew along the hillside leading down to the box's final resting place, and Ruby's known location during this time, it would have been impossible for him to have been the perpetrator.

Ruby was rightfully exhonerated and released from custody. Unfortunately, that's where this story ends...for now. So who killed her then? Why haven't the DNA smples been run through CODIS to establish whose semen was found? Who was the "acquaintance" she was supposed to meet up with during the afternoon of May 26th? So far, I haven't been able to find much else on this case. The pictures below are not the best quality but were all I could find after searching the web for countless hours. They are screen captures from HBO's autopsy. If anyone has anything to add to this, by all means do so. Apologies ahead of time if it is a repost or not in compliance with forum rules.
