Ukrainian Teen's Death and Funeral
On June 10, 2015, Anastasia Butorina's village came under artillery attack. She hid in her basement until she thought it was safe, and then went to bed when the artillery fire stopped. Unfortunately a shell exploded outside her house, and a fragment hit her in the chest. It broke her ribs, severed her spine, and injured one her lungs, but she was able to call out for help and her mother was able to pull her from the rubble and get her to the hospital.

Unfortunately Anastasia was unable to receive proper treatment.  She fell into a coma on June 14, and died June 16. Her funeral was on June 18.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

It's haunting how her eyes are staring off blankly both before and after her death. I think she knew she was going to die.

Coins should be more shiny and a lot smaller, I suppose.  These 2 look more like sacramental bread to me. Just a blind guess since I know nothing about an Ukrainian orthodox funeral. |
