I've seen this video. It is an execution. They are cutting the main artery in her leg and she will bleed out in about 3 minutes.

Cutting the femoral artery, will bring on a swift death. If it was totally severed, like it appears that is what the guy with the straight razor is intending to do, it could be anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes till she actually will die, but she will have passed out, quite a bit before death actually occurs. The femoral artery is one of the major sites used when embalming a body, because it is such a large artery. It is easily located as well. Generally if the thumb is placed on the pubis bone, and the hand is outstretched across the hip area to the point where the hipbone/pelvis can be felt under the little finger, the artery will lie just under where the index finger would naturally fall if pressed straight down, and be touching the body between the two points, the artery is easily reached. It is also very shallow at this point as well, and the femoral vein is right next to it also. In case if anybody wondered about it...Cabriolet.  |
