I would bet this had more to do with them as 'working girls' rather than being lesbians.

Many hookers and strippers are into women, at least of a while, because of their hatred and resentment of men.

I lived with an ex-stripper for a while who did this in her past. She said it's pretty common.

Also, a friend of mine married an ex-stripper. She did the same in her past.
