The drive tandem of a tractor trailer when it isn't loaded, really doesn't weigh all that much - 8000-pounds without a trailer, about 11,000 with a trailer. Half that for only one side, and you have only a couple of tons pressing down on the guy. If the driver was bobtail (tractor without a trailer) and if he just pulled up onto him, it wouldn't be enough to eviscerate him - just mash him in real good. It takes a crapload of force to eviscerate a full-grown man who is in good shape - like a truck going at speed, or one that is loaded. |
