Traumatic Near-Amputation of Leg
Text From Source: This 22 year old woman who was the pillion passenger on a motorcycle sustained this very severe injury to the left tibia and fibula which were almost amputated. She refused amputation which would be the treatment of choice, and she asked that every effort should be made to preserve the limb. No word on the outcome of leg or patient. -Hey Zeus Guevara- · · |

Re: Traumatic Near-Amputation of Leg
Found After Post Text From Source: Image 01 This was followed by extensive debridement of necrotic muscle and split skin grafting as shown. Surprisingly, after reduction of the fracture neither vascular or neurological repair was required. Intravenous antibiotics prevented postoperative infection. Image 02 The fracture healed in a skelecast as shown, and the vascular circulation of the foot was good. There was weakness of both plantar and dorsiflexion of the ankle and foot, but the length of the leg was maintained. -Hey Zeus Guevara- · · |
