Trans Woman Tyfanny Montel Stabbed to Death in Boa Vista, Brazil, 2018
Tyfanny Montel, a trans woman, was identified as the victim. She suffered fatal stab wounds in the early hours of June 10, 2018, on Rua Carmelo, close to the bar where she was employed. The attack took place in Pintolandia, within the west zone of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil. She had relocated to Boa Vista from the neighboring municipality of Canta less than two weeks before the killing. Police began a homicide inquiry. Initial reports mentioned no arrest, and a motive had not been established.     |
