Trans Teenager Michele Shot Dead in Itaperuna, Brazil, July 2018
Michele, a 16 year old travesti identified in local reporting as Luis Miguel Macedo Rodrigues, was killed by gunfire on Rua Padre Joao Batista in Itaperuna's Cidade Nova neighbourhood, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, on the night of Saturday, July 7, 2018. Two men riding a motorcycle were blamed for the shooting and fled after being pursued by military police. The 143rd Civil Police precinct registered the case and requested information. Reporting stated no motive, and no arrest has been reported.         |
