Trans Teenager Michele Shot Dead in Itaperuna, Brazil, July 2018
The victim was a 16 year old travesti known as Michele, named in local reporting as Luis Miguel Macedo Rodrigues. She was shot dead on the night of Saturday July 7, 2018 on Rua Padre Joao Batista in the Cidade Nova neighbourhood of Itaperuna, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, by two men on a motorcycle who escaped a military police pursuit. The case was registered with the 143rd Civil Police precinct, which appealed for information; no motive was stated in reporting and no arrest has been reported.         |
